Kelli McLaughlin

July 12, 1977-April 21, 2023

Kelli’s Story:

Kelli’s Kegs N Eggs 5K was founded in 2022, seven months after Kelli Abell McLaughlin - a then 44 year old wife, mother of 4, small business owner, active community member, and passionate fundraiser - was unexpectedly diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. This terminal brain cancer diagnosis, with an average life expectancy of just 15 months, was a devastating blow to Kelli and her family. However, they chose to turn their heartbreak into good by initiating the First Annual Kelli’s Kegs N Eggs 5K in April 2022 - in efforts to raise money for more brain cancer research, which is so desperately needed, as well as to offer financial assistance to local Hoosiers who have been diagnosed with this disease.

After raising over $50,000 the first year, the Second Annual Kelli’s Kegs N Eggs 5K is set for May 20, 2023 with high hopes to double the impact of year one! This event is one for the books - live music, silent auction, complimentary beverage, breakfast, and much more - all in the spirit to raise funds and awareness of GBM. Kelli has been courageously battling Glioblastoma Multiforme and has every intention of attending again this year!

In addition to raising funds, this year’s event will also celebrate the life of Kelli McLaughlin, who passed away at home surrounded by her family on April 21, 2023. Throughout her final days, Kelli continued to urge her family to raise money and help find a cure for Glioblastoma. Your participation in Kelli’s Kegs N Eggs 5K is helping to fulfill those wishes so that no family endures the loss of someone they love due to this disease. Thank you for joining us to make this year’s event an incredible success!
